IRT Nanoelec consortium welcomes new member, Aledia

Aledia joined the IRT Nanoelec consortium in June 2019.

Aledia develops LED (light-emitting diode) technologies for displays. The company leverages its unique 3D GaN (gallium nitride) nanowire on silicon architecture to deliver high image quality, unrivalled brightness both indoors and out, and very low energy consumption. The company addresses the connected watch, telephone, TV, and augmented and virtual reality markets.

As a partner of IRT Nanoelec, Aledia will be a part of the 3D integration program, contributing know-how that will open the door to a new application for IRT Nanoelec 3D integration techniques and, especially, direct wafer-to-wafer bonding. In effect, when combined with LEDs using 3D nanowires, the type of heterogeneous integration made possible by bonding will be instrumental to Aledia’s continued growth.
