A cohort of six startups in the Easytech program attended the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas from January 6–9.
CES Las Vegas is quite simply the world’s largest consumer electronics and tech event.
Each year professionals from the high-tech industry and content creators converge on Las Vegas to see the more than 20,000 innovations showcased at the event. The consensus among participants is that CES Las Vegas is the most effective way to generate new business opportunities in the United States, Asia, and Latin America.
This year, six startups in the IRT Nanoelec Easytech program traveled to CES to show off their technologies. And all six received support in the form of consulting and financing from the Easytech program, with the goal of developing innovative products integrating electronics and embedded software.
And, with the support of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional government’s international development plan, the Minalogic cluster provided an additional 34 SMEs and startups with services to help them reach out to key contacts and get the most out of CES Las Vegas.

In&Motion, Aryballe Technologies, EnLaps, Bidul&Co, Holi, and EnerBee are partners of the IRT Nanoelec Easytech program.
In&Motion presented its smart airbag system for skiers. Integrated sensors can detect when a skier is about to fall. The airbag then inflates in under 100 ms—protecting the skier before he or she hits the ground. The system is intended to protect professional skiers from injury. Aryballe Technologies unveiled the world’s first universal portable electronic nose. The device leverages innovative biosensors, software, and a database to identify different flavors and smells. The company’s groundbreaking R&D using surface plasmon resonance imaging, or SPRi, is paving the way for solutions for olfactory disorder anosmia, estimated to affect between 1% and 2% of the population. http://aryballe-technologies.com/
EnLaps went to CES to showcase its innovative time-lapse image capture system, which consists of an all-in-one unit that does everything from photography to editing. Time-lapse photography entails capturing a sequence of images at predetermined intervals to reveal changes over time that take place too slowly to be seen by the naked eye. EnLaps’ system can even be left outdoors for weeks at a time; the unit is fully weatherproof and powered by its own solar panel. http://enlaps.io/

Holi invents connected solutions that measure and improve sleep quality. Their flagship product is a new-generation alarm clock aptly named “Bonjour.” The talking, connected alarm clock packs in artificial intelligence and is compatible with other domestic connected objects like Netatmo and Nest thermostats, so that users can control the temperature of their bedroom without getting out of bed, for example. Users can also control the intensity of the connected lightbulbs the company unveiled a few months ago using the alarm clock to turn up or turn down lights at a given time of day or night. http://www.holimotion.com/
EnerBee developed a miniature micro generator that harvests energy from motion. The company’s innovative products, which combine the patented micro generator with energy storage capabilities, replace traditional batteries and never need to be charged or changed.
