The IRT Nanoelec Scientific Committee held its fourth annual meeting on June 25, 2017 at Grenoble Ecole de Management’s GEM Playground serious game room and connected store. Grenoble Ecole de Management is a founding partner of IRT Nanoelec.
This year’s meeting was attended by thirteen members of the Scientific Committee, including new members whose profiles reflect the changing face of IRT Nanoelec’s programs.
Unlike in previous years, this year the meeting agenda was set up by market application rather than by research topic
The agenda covered six main items:
- IRT Nanoelec technology for datacenters
- IRT Nanoelec and healthcare
- IRT Nanoelec education and training programs
- IRT Nanoelec and energy management
- IRT Nanoelec solutions for imaging
- IRT Nanoelec socioeconomic impact assessment
A presentation of the relevant results, outcomes, or findings for each item was given, including those of our industrial partners.
The market-focused organization of the meeting was well-received by the members of the Scientific Committee, who noted the international caliber of the results presented, particularly for 3D and silicon photonics.
The members were unanimous about Easytech, confirming the program’s key role in transferring new technology to startups and as a valuable R&D resource for SMBs in the ecosystem.
A mid-day break provided an opportunity for the Scientific Committee to tour the new Plexus lab (at GEM Bis).
Several suggestions on the format of presentations and reports were made for the next meeting, which will be held in 2018.
