Recycling E-Waste Workshop

On April 17th, 2026, the IRT Nanoelec CHIF Training program and the European project GreenChips-EDU organized an afternoon dedicated to the recycling of electronic and electric waste for the students of the Master Nanotech of Grenoble INP – Phelma, UGA and of the Master PGE Strategy & Entrepreneurship from Grenoble École de Management.

During the workshop, 60 students worked together to understand the environmental, economic, regulatory, technological challenges linked to the WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

The session combined expert talks, including one from Jean-Pierre Raskin, professor at UCLouvain, stakeholders role-play and group ideation.

Each group had to propose a solution to answer the following question: “A European city aims to cut e‑waste by 50% in 5 years. How do we make the model more efficient, sustainable, and fair?”

The participants and the jury then voted for the three best concepts and the wining groups received a prize.
