Mass transfer solution for micro-LEDs based displays
The display industry has been in continuous progress for many decades. after the improvement of the sizes, shapes and screen resolution, the research has focused on how to improve the display brightness, with higher contrast, and life time.
Nanoelec/Displed program (through CEA-Leti, and techno providers SET french sme & EVG autrian group) explore mass transfer of micro-LEDs chips can to achieve the simultaneous transfer of thousands or millions of chips in one time. A talk&paper presented by CEA & SET at EPTC 205 Singapore, December 2025, describes the solution based on a vacuum network coupled to a pick and place machine to handle several chips at a time, as a proof of concept, that may be upscaled to potentially meet the industrial need.
