The French home automation federation (FFD) convention was held in Grenoble on December 17 and 18. IRT Nanoelec and the PULSE program hosted the event, which was attended by representatives of the CEA and Schneider Electric, partners of IRT Nanoelec.

The convention, titled National Home Automation Days, was held at the CEA in Grenoble on Thursday and Friday December 17 and 18, 2015. The event, open to members of the FFD, offered up workshops, networking, and a chance to find out about the latest industry developments.

The 80 attendees represented the entire value chain (manufacturers, resellers, integrators, installers, property developers, architects, occupational therapists, educators, and innovators).

The first day was devoted to group workshops and presentations of members’ new products (Qivivo, Delta Dore, Krika, Ma Smarthome, Bluelinéa, B&W Group, Mobotix, NodOn, Alcante). Two lively panel talks were held in the afternoon, one on careers in home automation covering topics like education, certification, industry directories, and new services; and one on the future of the FFD, with a discussion of social media, federation news, trade events, certifications, market research, collaborative workspaces, online resources, regional events, and working groups. The day ended with tours—always popular with attendees—of the IRT Nanoelec PULSE and Linking Technology platform with energy harvesting, smart city, lighting, smart energy, and MAD demonstrators; the CEA Tech showroom; and Schneider Electric’s Paul-Louis Merlin training center.
